at last i finished reading the half-blood prince yesterday. its fantastic, and reading it all in a day helped end it on a better, albeit sad note (dumbledore's demise, boohoo ). had to stop for tuition in the afternoon tho, and that lesson was one of the most mentally asphyxiating sessions i ever had. its as if she stopped thinking throughout the 2 hrs. i vomitted blood, and she spaced out-percentage has never seemed so difficult. tried explaining to her that percentage and fractions are inter-convertable, ie 50%=1/2, 75%=3/4, and she couldn't comprehend it, till 1 hour later; by which i was so thoroughly vexed yet glad at the same time i could have thumped her hard on the back. only to scream bloody murder again 5 minutes later when she took more than 10 secs to subtract 9 from 14. and she had the cheek to tell me the answer is 7. nearly flipped. and shes pri 5 no less. wah... didnt mean to be so patronising but shes really v v weak.sigh.
thank gdness theres HP to cheer me up. this book has a lot more humour and romance in it haha ,which kept me fairly amused. you can always trust goofy ron to come up with his silly antics like conducting his own 'weasley is the king' anthem on the quidditch pitch, and theres a lot of snogging scenes thats really hilarious. rowling made all of them out to be such amorous teenagers that the moment a couple meets, they would be sticking their tongues down each other's throat. remember lavender's 'won-won'? hahaha, and 3 cheers for harry for having kissed ginny!!! lol and fleur is with bill, while tonks has designs on lupin all e while.. funny moments include the apparition lessons when ernie macmillan did a pirouetting leap into the loop in front of him and beamed around, thinking that he managed to disapparate from where he stood and apparate into the loop in front of him. absolutely funny. hermione still sound as gorgeous and goody-two-shoes as ever and hagrid's still the same lumbering jackass who's still as obssessive over those creatures he affectionately treats as pets. snape and malfoy play the villian very well though i suspect snape may be gd afterall. and R.A.B. may be regulus black, sirius's bro who was a death eater that's supposedly dead. seemed that dumbledore died for nothing, haiz... the magical world mourns the loss of a great wizard. and i wonder whats gonna happen to hogwarts in the next book.
now im very fascinated by the lucky potion felix felicis. imagine if theres such a thing. nothing/almost nothing could go wrong. eg, if i take it the night before sleeping, i would have a wonderful beauty sleep with many sweet dreams of gd things happening to me. then when i wake up late in the morning, my mum wouldnt nag at me, instead she'll bring in a huge tray of western breakfast for me. breakfast in bed, whoo~~ den while im eating she would have this beatific smile on her face, and she would ask me how much money i want to have that day for going out. isnt that great? i would just act normal and ask for 300 bucks. she wouldnt even bat an eyelid. after that, i'll leap out of bed and do not even have to make it. washing up's next and then its time to go out yay!! and for once, the jinxed sbs bus arrives on time! i'd board it and realise that its not crowded and the air-con's just right. splendid. smooth traffic would then ensure a timely arrival in town for the first time. now, the weather would be great, cloudy and windy, and there wouldnt be any crowds at all, nor annoying ppl handing out flyers/asking for donations. my friends and I would then proceed to watch a movie, during which there wouldnt be any twerps who rustle/crinkle their food wrappers or have their hps ringing mid-show. no tall ppl in front who would obscure my view too. everything would be so smooth-sailing it feels surreal. shopping would then ensue after a hearty lunch at gengkhis khan's, which would be free as my frens would be feeling generous that day haha. i would of coz, pretend to decline their offer but then accept their gesture of goodwill. shopping till dropping has never been so true till i come out first from kino laden with bags of books i've always wanted to read, den to harvey norman/courts to get the canon ixus 5.0 and ipod mini. next, its time to buy whatever i fancy like crumpler bags and clothes haha. by then my load would have been heavy enough, and so i rest my legs by taking a teabreak at delifrance and ordering all the pastries i like. for that day only, perhaps, i can eat a lot without feeling bloated and all the rich food would have no effect on my stomach. its then time for home, on a taxi this time as i realise that the cashier gave me extra change which would do nicely as cabfare.
ok better stop, the above sounds postively retarded, and im getting retarded too at this time of the night...zzz
