i witnessed something funny yet disgusting yesterday. was sitting outside st. leaven, this bakery at taka B2 beside auntie anne's , when i happened to look inside the bakery and saw this mum and her toddler son ( botak somemore, so you can imagine how cute and cheeky he looked, about 2 yrs old i think ). now, the mum was taking and choosing some bread off the trays on the lowest shelf, and guess what her son was doing?
you would never guess it. the son was beside his mum and was gleefully
LICKING the bread on the tray beside the one his mum was picking bread from. BIG YUCKS. he just kept licking and licking, with his small body tilted slightly forward, hands at side and small pink tongue flicking in and out, each swift motion skilfully removing the sugar/cream/chocolate coating. worse thing was, his mum was completely oblivious to her son's deed, or perhaps her feigning-ignorance skills were honed to perfection already. no one else saw her son in action, what a pity haha. the boy was apparently quite happy and it seemed he didnt care if we saw him. the entertainment ended when the mum went to pay for her buns. ( haha i suddenly realise how that sounded!)
lesson to be learnt: never get bread/pastries from the lowest shelf in a bakery, or if you wanna, choose those that are on the inside, haha, if not u may be the unfortunate unsuspecting victim of some mischievious greedy boy
reminds me of myself when i was younger. wasnt so peckish haha, but i remember cleaning my hands on clothes when they were dirty. very convenient especially when i cannot find a toilet nearby. and i discovered that my sec 3 french cls 'nemesis' could be gg over to france too. horror of horrors! at first i was lamenting the fact that gg over alone would be so scary, now, maybe 'scary' would take on a whole new dimension instead. shall keep my fingers crossed. that he goes but the scratchy past would be gone with the wind. haha that would be a win-win situation.
