finally managed to meet up with the VS guys after a few weeks. gathered at W's place for a uneventful swim, all thanks to the weather (luckily theres a jacuzzi to 'frolick' in ha! ), followed by a dinner at chomp chomp. pity Will cannot join us. s'poreans are really hardcore foodies! the place was really packed and we had to join others in standing around tables like vultures circling carcasses for about 20 mins before we got one.
but the highlight of the evening was certainly at ice cube, this ice cream bar/cafe at serangoon garden. it serves 'magic potion', a creative combination of both liquor and ice cream. really neat. conversation there quickly took on a nostalgic bent, punctuated with raucous laughter every now and then at the recollection of the ridiculous and memorable things we did in sec sch. we had a blast of a time back then in 1997-2000, and its really amazing that in 2005, the mirth still lives on. I thank God for that haha. may the tomfoolery and clowning never end.
some pics of the evening:

Volcanic Eruption, nice provocative name
Shaz's salacious sneer after having some eruption within him
MAGIC POTION!! see the 'test-tubes' in the wooden racks? they contain liquor which is to be poured onto the ice cream.. interesting taste.
ice cream sandwich! french vanilla between 2 choco chip cookies, quite yummy as well!
and today i had my farewell dinner with my extended families on both sides. kinda premature but its the best date considering that i may not have time as the departure date draws nearer. it was fun, yet tiring to switch from cantonese to hokkien, depending on whether im speaking to my paternal/maternal relatives. challenging too, in having to entertain and bring together both sides without resulting in awkwardness. the best thing was that i managed to have a picture taken with my paternal cousins, well, at least most of them :
seldom have a chance to meet all of them, so it was gd to catch up with one another. i realise that my female cousins are damn gd targets for suanning, and they get better with age lol. pity that Y chromosomes seem to reign in the Tan family. if not i would have more entertainment haha. ok, its late, time to hit the sack...
